Jacksonville, FL – Residents across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia are being urged to prepare for frost as temperatures are expected to dip as low as 33 degrees early Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, a Frost Advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday. The advisory covers a wide area, including Suwannee, Baker, Nassau, Union, Bradford, and parts of Alachua counties in Florida, as well as Coffee, Appling, Wayne, and other areas in southeast Georgia.
The advisory warns that frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor plants if they are not protected. Residents are encouraged to cover plants or bring them indoors to minimize potential harm.
This advisory highlights a significant change in weather, as cooler air settles into the region overnight. Such conditions can pose challenges for gardeners and farmers, who may need to take additional precautions.
