Tulsa, OK – A strong cold front is ushering in gusty winds and significantly cooler temperatures across northeastern Oklahoma today. Residents along I-44 should prepare for winds of 20–30 mph, with occasional gusts reaching 35 mph through the afternoon, impacting driving conditions and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, today’s high will only reach 49 degrees. Breezy conditions are expected to continue into the evening, with winds shifting to 10–15 mph overnight as temperatures drop to 30 degrees. Those commuting or traveling for Thanksgiving should monitor local conditions, especially if driving high-profile vehicles.

Tuesday offers a reprieve, with sunny skies and lighter winds. Temperatures will climb to a pleasant high of 54 degrees. However, the holiday week will remain chilly, with Thanksgiving Day seeing a high near 46 degrees under clear skies, ideal for outdoor festivities. Nights will be cold throughout the week, dipping into the mid-20s by Thursday.

Travelers along Route 66 and other major roadways should be cautious of sudden gusts today and allow extra time for safe travel. For those hosting holiday gatherings, plan for outdoor events earlier in the week, as temperatures are expected to cool further after Thanksgiving.
