Fort Worth, TX – Rain and cooler temperatures are expected to impact Thanksgiving week travel across North Texas, especially for those planning to use major roadways like I-35 and I-20. A developing weather system could bring precipitation to the region starting Monday, with the potential for heavier rainfall midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, North Texas will see partly cloudy skies on Sunday, with highs near 65°F and calm winds. However, a cold front is expected to arrive Monday, increasing rain chances to 50% by evening. Commuters should prepare for wet roads and reduced visibility, particularly during peak travel hours.

Tuesday looks to be the wettest day of the week, with a 70% chance of rain, strong gusts of up to 20 mph, and temperatures dropping into the upper 50s. Rainfall could disrupt travel on I-35 from Fort Worth to Waco and other major corridors.

Conditions improve slightly on Wednesday, though light showers may linger. Highs will hover around 60°F, but wet roads may continue to pose challenges for last-minute holiday travelers. Thanksgiving Day is forecasted to be dry but cool, with temperatures in the mid-50s under mostly sunny skies.

Travelers are urged to check road conditions and allow extra time for travel, particularly early in the week. Rain gear is recommended for those attending outdoor Thanksgiving festivities.
