Fort Worth, Texas – Widespread thunderstorms will soak North and Central Texas through Saturday, with flooding concerns growing as heavy rain targets the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding cities.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, rain chances will remain high—up to 90% Wednesday—across Dallas, Waco, Killeen, and Sherman. Flash flooding could develop in areas experiencing repeated downpours, particularly in low-lying or urban zones. The pattern is expected to continue into the weekend as the atmosphere remains unsettled.

In Dallas-Fort Worth, temperatures will hover around the low 80s through Saturday, with rain chances tapering to 40% by the weekend. Waco and Temple may see slightly warmer conditions, with highs near 82°F and a persistent risk of storms each day.

Drivers should watch for ponding on roadways and reduce speed in heavy rain. Residents are urged to keep phones charged, avoid flooded low-water crossings, and monitor local alerts. Scattered power outages and localized street flooding may occur if storms stall.

The NWS says updates will continue as confidence in rainfall totals grows. Rain chances remain elevated through at least Saturday evening, with more alerts possible if conditions worsen.
