Fort Worth, Texas – Localized flash flooding could disrupt Thursday morning travel across North Texas as two storm lines merge, bringing heavy rain into the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas. Drivers near Waco, Graham, and Cisco may face water-covered roads through noon, with up to 5 inches of rainfall possible in some spots.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected across the region, with isolated higher amounts reaching 5 inches. The heaviest downpours are likely to occur within the green-shaded corridor from Graham through DFW to Waco, where saturated ground and urban runoff increase the flash flood risk.

Localized flooding may impact major roadways, including I-20, I-35, and US-380. Emergency officials urge drivers to avoid flood-prone areas and never attempt to cross water-covered roads. “Turn around, don’t drown,” remains the top safety reminder.

The storms are expected to taper by early afternoon, but lingering showers could slow drainage in flood-prone zones. Additional advisories may be issued later today if rainfall continues or new storm cells develop.
