Lubbock, TX – North Texas residents can expect a much cooler Thanksgiving Day as temperatures remain in the upper 40s, about 20 degrees colder than yesterday. While the day will bring mostly cloudy skies, light northeast winds will keep conditions calm for outdoor gatherings and events.

According to the National Weather Service, Thanksgiving Day’s high will peak near 48°F with overnight lows dipping to 29°F. North-to-northeast winds of 5 to 10 mph will shift slightly southeast by the evening, but cloud coverage will dominate through the day. For those traveling along I-27, expect cool but stable driving conditions, with no precipitation forecasted.

Black Friday shoppers heading out early Friday morning will need jackets as temperatures start near freezing before climbing to a sunny 53°F by midday. Friday night remains clear with a low of 33°F. Looking ahead, Saturday brings even warmer highs near 59°F under partly sunny skies, while Sunday features a mild 55°F and more sunshine.

Weekend plans should remain largely unaffected by weather, but temperatures will require layered clothing for comfort, especially during early mornings and evenings. Drivers and pedestrians should remain cautious as holiday traffic increases on roadways like I-27 and U.S. Route 87.

Stay tuned for updates, as Monday and Tuesday could see highs creeping back toward 60°F, promising a pleasant start to the next week.
