Fort Worth, TX – North Texas is experiencing a sharp drop in temperatures, with the region expected to fall into the 30s Monday night. A cold front sweeping across the area has brought a dramatic 24-hour temperature change of up to 35 degrees in some locations.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, residents can expect temperatures to dip into the low 30s and 40s overnight, with cooler conditions persisting into Thanksgiving week. A widespread freeze is anticipated Thursday night, particularly west and north of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.
Sunny skies on Tuesday will bring some relief, with daytime highs climbing into the low 60s. However, another warm-up into the 70s and 80s is expected by Wednesday, followed by a reinforcing cold front Wednesday night.
The NWS advises residents to prepare for freezing temperatures by protecting plants, pets, and exposed pipes. Breezy and cloudy conditions will dominate Thanksgiving Day, with below-freezing lows likely west of the metroplex.
