Peachtree City, GA – An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for much of North Georgia, lasting from late Sunday night into Monday morning, with wind chill values expected to plummet to zero or below. Residents are urged to take precautions as dangerously cold conditions settle into the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, the warning is in effect from 1 a.m. through 12 p.m. Monday. A Cold Weather Advisory is also in place for areas outside the warning zone, where wind chills are projected to remain in the single digits.

Officials are advising residents to protect pets, pipes, plants, and vulnerable populations, known as the “4 Ps.” Hypothermia and frostbite risks are elevated in these conditions, particularly during prolonged exposure to the cold. The extreme weather highlights the importance of staying indoors when possible and wearing layered, insulated clothing when outside.
