Grand Forks, ND – A cold and snowy pattern continues across North Dakota this week, with snow showers and frigid temperatures impacting travel.
According to the National Weather Service, lingering snowfall Monday will taper off by noon, but another round is expected Wednesday into Wednesday night. Forecasts show 3–4 inches of snow near the North Dakota-South Dakota border, while areas like Fargo and Grand Forks will see lighter totals due to dry air. Wind chills will drop as low as -17°F, making for dangerous outdoor conditions.
Tuesday will bring mostly cloudy skies and a high near 5°F, but wind chills could reach -16°F. Snow returns Wednesday, with an 80% chance of accumulation through the night. Winds will increase to 30 mph, reducing visibility and causing slick road conditions.
By Thursday, skies will clear with highs around 8°F, but another cold front will keep temperatures below average. A slight chance of snow returns Friday and Saturday.
Drivers should check ND DOT road conditions and prepare for winter travel impacts. Bundle up and limit outdoor exposure to prevent frostbite.
