North Dakota – Snowfall is forecast Sunday into Monday, bringing travel risks and cold temperatures to Grand Forks and surrounding areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Forks, the highest chance for over one inch of snow is near the Canadian border, impacting towns such as Langdon and Roseau. The snowfall is expected to begin Sunday afternoon and continue into early Monday morning, coinciding with a drop in temperatures and increased wind speeds.

Drivers on I-29 and U.S. Route 2 should prepare for snow-covered roads and reduced visibility as conditions worsen. NWS forecasts gusts up to 24 mph Sunday night, further complicating travel plans. Residents are urged to monitor updates and adjust their holiday travel accordingly.

Saturday will remain dry, with a high near 25 degrees and partly sunny skies. However, snow chances increase to 50% Saturday night, with east-northeast winds bringing in colder air. Sunday’s high is expected to hover around 22 degrees, with snowfall and windy conditions persisting into the evening.

Looking ahead to Thanksgiving week, temperatures will remain frigid, with highs in the teens and lows dropping into single digits by Monday night. Light snow chances return Monday and Wednesday, but significant accumulation is unlikely beyond Sunday’s storm.

Stay weather-aware by following local updates and drive cautiously if traveling during the storm. Prepare vehicles with winter safety kits, and allow extra time to reach your destination safely.
