North Dakota residents should prepare for significant weather changes starting Tuesday, with rain, wind, and falling temperatures forecasted across the region. After a sunny Monday, clouds are expected to increase overnight, bringing a chance of rain that will intensify by Tuesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, rain is likely to start in the afternoon and continue through the night, with expected rainfall between 0.20 and 0.50 inches, especially south and east of the state near the Minnesota border. Windy conditions on Tuesday afternoon could make driving difficult, particularly along key routes such as U.S. Highway 2 and Interstate 29. Motorists should exercise caution, especially with potentially slick roads and reduced visibility.

Temperatures will fall as the rain moves out, with lows dipping into the low 30s by Wednesday morning. Halloween Wednesday will bring morning rain in the southeast portions of North Dakota and Minnesota, with winds tapering off by the afternoon. Highs on Wednesday are expected to reach only into the mid-40s, with even colder overnight lows around 20-30 degrees.

The weather will clear up just in time for Halloween night, providing a crisp, dry evening for trick-or-treaters, though temperatures will remain on the cooler side. Those planning to be outdoors should dress warmly, as temperatures will hover around the low 30s.

As the week progresses, skies will clear up further on Thursday, with increasing afternoon clouds by Friday and temperatures in the upper 50s.
