Gusty winds and scattered light rain will mark Saturday across eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota, with daytime highs struggling to reach 70 and wind gusts topping 35 mph in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, isolated showers are most likely near Lake of the Woods (30–40% chance), while a lighter 15–20% chance of sprinkles extends across the Red River Valley and areas from Devils Lake to Detroit Lakes. Winds from the northwest will dominate the day, with peak gusts of 25–35 mph expected through the evening.
Cities such as Fargo, Grand Forks, and Devils Lake can expect breezy, partly to mostly cloudy conditions. Wind gusts will taper slightly overnight, with temperatures dropping sharply into the low to mid-40s. By Sunday, skies begin to clear and winds ease slightly, with highs reaching the mid-60s.
No additional rain is expected after Saturday night, and a warming trend takes hold beginning Monday, with highs climbing back into the 70s by midweek.
Dry weather is expected through at least Friday, but motorists should remain alert today due to crosswinds on open highways and light rainfall reducing visibility in localized pockets.
