Green Bay, WI – A mix of rain and snow is expected to create slippery road conditions in northeast Wisconsin on Thursday, making travel hazardous for commuters. The National Weather Service warns that light precipitation could lead to slick streets, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

According to the NWS, a 50% chance of rain and snow will persist through the morning hours before tapering off in the afternoon. Patchy fog could reduce visibility, adding to the challenges for drivers. Overnight, temperatures will drop near freezing, increasing the risk of ice formation.

By Friday night, another round of snow could bring light accumulations to northern Wisconsin, with a chance for over an inch in some areas. Mild daytime temperatures may cause river ice to break up, raising concerns about localized flooding and ice jams.

The weekend forecast shows a shift to colder conditions. Saturday will be mostly sunny but with a high of just 28°F, while Sunday brings partly cloudy skies and highs near 33°F.

Drivers should exercise caution, particularly on highways and less-traveled roads. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation urges motorists to check road conditions before heading out.
