Greenville, NC – A winter storm is set to bring snow, sleet, and ice to eastern North Carolina starting Wednesday morning, with hazardous conditions expected through Thursday. Power outages, tree damage, and dangerous road conditions could make travel nearly impossible in several counties.

The highest snow risk is in Greene, Pitt, Martin, Washington, Tyrrell, and Beaufort counties, while the most significant ice buildup is likely in Martin, Washington, Pitt, Beaufort, Greene, Lenoir, Craven, Pamlico, Jones, Duplin, and inland Onslow counties.
The storm is expected to begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday and continue through 10 a.m. Thursday. Commuters in affected areas should prepare for hazardous travel conditions, especially during the Wednesday morning and evening rush hours.
