Belville, NC – Rain and cooler temperatures are expected across North Carolina as a cold front moves through today, bringing a mix of showers and slightly cooler air. Residents and travelers should plan for potential wet conditions this afternoon, especially near major roadways such as I-140 and I-40.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington, scattered showers will arrive after 2 p.m., accompanied by increasing cloud cover and highs near 71 degrees. Winds could gust up to 18 mph, and rain totals are expected to remain under a tenth of an inch. Drivers should exercise caution during afternoon commutes as slick roads may develop.

Cooler weather settles in tonight, with skies gradually clearing and lows dipping to 48 degrees. Wednesday will bring mostly sunny conditions and calmer winds, with highs around 69 degrees—perfect for any early Thanksgiving preparations.

Another cold front will move in late Thursday, increasing the chance of rain to 50%, with showers likely continuing into Thursday night. Highs on Thanksgiving Day will reach 74 degrees before the system ushers in breezy conditions and colder air by Friday.

The weekend will feel much colder, with highs on Saturday struggling to reach 52 degrees and lows plummeting into the 30s. By Sunday, a third front brings arctic air, dropping temperatures further, with highs in the 40s and lows possibly in the teens.

Residents should prepare now for rapidly changing conditions, particularly those traveling for Thanksgiving. Stay tuned to local updates and ensure vehicles are winter-ready as colder air settles into the region.
