North Carolina Weather Alert: Showers and Wind Gusts Up to 26 MPH Expected Thursday

Raleigh, NC – North Carolina residents should prepare for gusty winds and scattered showers late Thursday before sunny skies return this weekend. Breezy conditions could make evening commutes difficult, especially along I-40 near Raleigh.

According to the National Weather Service, a 40% chance of showers is expected after 4 p.m. Thursday. Winds from the south will increase to 9-13 mph, with gusts reaching up to 26 mph. Rainfall amounts are expected to be minimal, staying below a tenth of an inch. By Thursday night, showers will taper off by 10 p.m., with lows dipping to around 43°F.

Friday will bring a clear and sunny day with a high of 61°F, followed by a calm Friday night with lows around 42°F. Warm temperatures return Saturday, with sunny skies and highs near 70°F, making for an excellent weekend outdoors. Saturday night will be mostly clear with a low of 37°F.

Sunday remains sunny, with a high near 63°F, while Monday cools slightly to 54°F under mostly sunny skies. Drivers should use caution Thursday evening but can look forward to pleasant weekend conditions ahead.
