The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a marginal risk warning for excessive rainfall, with scattered showers and storms expected throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest chances of rain will shift into the southeast, including Fayetteville, Clinton, Goldsboro, and Wilson. The Triad area will experience fewer and more isolated showers. High temperatures are forecasted to range from the mid-80s to near 90 degrees.

The probability of precipitation varies throughout the day, with peak chances around 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Residents in areas prone to flooding should stay alert and avoid flooded roads. High temperatures combined with heavy rainfall increase the risk of flash floods, so it is crucial to stay informed and prepared.

The weather outlook for the coming week shows a consistent pattern of rain and storms. Monday will see a 40% chance of rain with highs around 88 degrees, while Tuesday’s forecast includes a 55% chance of rain and highs near 85 degrees. Midweek, Wednesday is expected to bring a 60% chance of rain with temperatures in the low 80s. This pattern continues into Thursday and Friday with similar rain chances and temperatures hovering in the low 80s.
