According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Newport/Morehead City, rain probabilities increase overnight, with Morehead City, Jacksonville, and North Topsail Beach seeing an 80–87% chance of rain by Monday morning. Inland areas such as Kinston and Greenville have slightly lower chances but are still expected to receive steady rainfall.
The highest rainfall probabilities will occur Monday afternoon and evening, with precipitation lingering into early Tuesday. Coastal regions, including Ocracoke and Hatteras Island, are likely to experience the heaviest showers.
Residents are advised to prepare for wet road conditions and potential localized flooding in low-lying areas. Motorists should drive cautiously and allow extra travel time.
