Belville, NC – A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday, with visibility dropping below a quarter-mile in some areas. The National Weather Service warns drivers to use low-beam headlights and allow extra distance between vehicles, particularly on highways near Wilmington and Brunswick County.

According to the National Weather Service Wilmington, fog will persist through the early morning, causing hazardous driving conditions along U.S. Highway 17 and Interstate 140. The fog will lift by mid-morning, giving way to cloudy skies and a high near 72°F. Rain showers and possible thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon, with gusty winds up to 28 mph.

Looking ahead, Friday will bring sunshine and a high of 52°F, followed by a cool night with temperatures dipping to 38°F. The weekend will see mild temperatures, with a chance of showers late Saturday and heavy rain on Sunday. Breezy conditions are forecast for Sunday, with highs reaching 71°F.

Motorists should exercise caution early Thursday and prepare for changing weather throughout the weekend.
