Raleigh, NC – A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect for central North Carolina until 10 AM Wednesday, creating hazardous driving conditions on key roadways such as I-40 and US-70. Visibility is expected to drop to a quarter-mile or less, increasing the risk of accidents during the morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), dense fog has settled across much of central North Carolina, impacting Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding areas. Motorists are advised to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. Foggy conditions are expected to clear by mid-morning as temperatures climb to a high near 71°F.

Showers are likely to develop later Wednesday evening into the overnight hours, with a 70% chance of rain before tapering to isolated sprinkles early Thursday. Lows will dip to 49°F, making for cooler overnight conditions.

Looking ahead, Thursday will bring a partly sunny sky with a high near 55°F and gusty northeast winds reaching up to 20 mph. The end of the workweek cools down with a slight chance of rain on Friday as highs hover near 52°F.

The weekend forecast calls for sunny skies on Saturday, with highs reaching 46°F but much colder overnight lows dropping to 25°F. Sunday will continue the clear trend, with highs near 39°F and a sharp chill in the air for evening activities.
