Buffalo, NY — Western New York remains under a winter weather advisory until 9 a.m. Tuesday as snow, strong winds, and blowing snow create hazardous conditions. Affected areas include Wyoming, Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Niagara, and Monroe counties.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall totals are expected to range from 1 to 6 inches depending on the region. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph will result in significantly reduced visibility and blowing snow. These conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute, making travel difficult across much of the region.

Residents in Niagara, Orleans, and Northern Erie counties should prepare for slippery roads and scattered power outages due to wind-related tree damage. In areas such as Rochester and Allegany County, snow totals may be lower, but visibility issues and wind damage remain a concern.

Officials urge drivers to slow down and exercise caution on snow-covered roads. For safety, consider delaying travel until conditions improve later Tuesday morning.
