New York, NY – Storms and fog make a fast exit Wednesday morning, ushering in a stretch of summer sun across New York City through Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, lingering showers and thunderstorms will clear by midday Wednesday, with skies turning sunny and highs climbing near 82°F. Visibility and road conditions—especially along FDR Drive and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway—will improve significantly after 10 a.m. as patchy fog dissipates.

Residents should be prepared for rising temperatures. By Thursday, highs reach 84°F under mostly sunny skies. Friday trends slightly cooler at 76°F, but humidity levels remain elevated. The next chance for rain arrives Friday night with a 40% chance of showers, increasing through the weekend.

Saturday brings a 50% chance of storms, with more clouds and highs in the low 70s. Sunday continues the trend, staying humid with a chance of scattered showers and a high near 69°F. Monday also sees a 30% rain chance.

Expect warm, summerlike afternoons through midweek—ideal for outdoor plans. But keep an umbrella handy for the weekend, and avoid low-lying areas if rainfall intensifies.

More rain could develop late Sunday into Monday, so stay alert for updated advisories. The next NWS update is expected by Wednesday evening.
