New York, NY – After a stretch of unseasonably cool weather, temperatures across the New York metro region are expected to rebound sharply into the 80s by midweek, with Newark and Nanuet forecast to reach 86°F by Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service New York, highs will return to the mid-70s by Friday, followed by a weekend cooldown into the upper 60s. This dip won’t last long — temperatures will begin a steady climb Monday, reaching well above average levels by Wednesday, June 4.

Cities across the tri-state area, including Bridgeport, Central Park, and White Plains, will likely see highs from 79°F to 83°F midweek. Areas like Caldwell and Brewster are forecast to touch 84°F, marking one of the warmest stretches so far this spring.

The warming trend could put extra stress on local transit systems and vulnerable populations. Officials urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid extended midday exposure, and check on elderly neighbors as temperatures rise.

While no heat advisories are currently in place, further alerts may be issued early next week as temperatures approach summer-like levels. Residents should monitor local updates and prepare for potentially hot and humid conditions by midweek.
