New York, NY – Temperatures across the New York metro area and surrounding regions are expected to dip late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, with lows ranging from the upper 30s to mid-40s.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in New York, light southeast winds, low clouds, and some fog will limit radiational cooling, preventing temperatures from dropping as sharply as the previous night. The coldest temperatures will be found in more rural and inland areas, with parts of Connecticut and New Jersey seeing lows around 39°F, while urban areas such as New York City and Newark will remain closer to the mid-40s.

The forecast calls for overnight lows of 40°F in Danbury, CT, 41°F in White Plains, NY, and 44°F in Newark, NJ. Coastal locations such as Montauk and Riverhead are also expected to stay around 41°F.

Residents should prepare for chilly conditions but can expect milder overnight temperatures compared to previous nights. The NWS advises keeping an eye on any localized fog development, particularly in lower-lying areas.
