Binghamton, NY – Light snow showers and flurries are expected to linger across Central New York through mid-morning Wednesday, bringing another chilly day to the region despite a gradual return to calmer conditions.

According to the National Weather Service Binghamton, high temperatures will range from the upper 30s in northern areas like Old Forge to mid-40s farther south, including cities like Binghamton and Syracuse. Winds are forecast to ease as high pressure builds, helping to reduce the brisk feel that has accompanied recent weather.

Although skies will stay mostly dry after the flurries end, clouds are expected to return late Wednesday and continue overnight, with more snow chances arriving Thursday morning. Despite the seasonal shift into April, daytime temperatures will remain below average, reinforcing a colder-than-usual pattern for early spring.

Drivers should exercise caution on elevated roadways or during the early morning commute due to possible slick spots from overnight snow. Residents are encouraged to layer up and stay weather-aware as temperatures may not feel spring-like for several more days.

This brief shot of wintry weather is expected to ease later in the week as conditions slowly trend milder heading into the weekend.
