Binghamton, N.Y. – Warmer, mostly dry weather settles into central New York Tuesday, offering a brief respite from recent rain as temperatures climb back into the 70s across much of the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, highs today will reach the upper 60s to low 70s in cities like Ithaca, Elmira, and Binghamton, with drier air in place through the evening. This marks a return to near-seasonal warmth after a cool and wet start to the week.

While some clouds remain, areas such as Towanda and Montrose in northeastern Pennsylvania may see highs near 75°F under partly sunny skies. The break will be short-lived, however, with showers expected to return by Wednesday morning.

Drivers should enjoy improved travel conditions today, but prepare for slick roads and possible delays midweek. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of Tuesday’s window to complete any outdoor tasks or storm prep.

Showers are forecast to develop overnight and linger into Wednesday, with additional rainfall possible into Thursday. Stay tuned for updated advisories as the midweek system approaches.
