Albany, N.Y. – Cooler air and gusty breezes are sweeping across eastern and central New York today, with morning clouds giving way to increasing sunshine by midday.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, temperatures will top out in the upper 40s in Watertown and the low to mid-60s from Poughkeepsie to Keene. Winds will remain steady throughout the afternoon, making it feel cooler than Tuesday, particularly in elevated areas like Hunter and Newcomb.
Albany and surrounding towns such as Cobleskill, Herkimer, and Glens Falls will see highs in the upper 50s, while locations farther south like Poughkeepsie and Torrington could briefly touch the low 60s. The combination of clearing skies and brisk winds may lead to minor travel disruptions for high-profile vehicles on exposed roadways like I-87 and Route 9.
Residents are encouraged to layer up if heading out early, as wind chills could linger in the 40s through late morning. Sunshine will return through the afternoon, helping dry out damp ground from recent showers.
This brief cool-down is expected to last through Wednesday morning before temperatures begin to rebound. More weather updates will be issued if conditions change.
