Albany, NY – Thunderstorms could dampen Friday afternoon plans in eastern New York, with showers expected to linger into the weekend across Rensselaer County.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are likely between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday, with new rainfall totals ranging between a quarter and half an inch. Drivers along I-90 and I-87 near Albany should plan for wet conditions and reduced visibility through the afternoon. Temperatures will peak around 81°F before dropping to 64°F overnight.

Saturday stays soggy, especially after 2 p.m., when more storms could bring heavier rain and gusty winds. Highs will settle near 75°F, though breezes from the south may cool things slightly in the evening. Showers taper late Saturday, but occasional rain remains possible into Sunday.

Sunday offers some relief, with partly sunny skies and a high near 78°F. However, another round of rain moves in by Sunday night with a 30% chance of showers, followed by more unsettled conditions Monday.
