Albany, N.Y. – Blustery winds and a noticeable chill will blanket much of eastern New York today, as temperatures struggle to climb out of the 40s and 50s and gusts reach up to 35 mph across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, wind gusts between 30 and 35 mph are expected from late morning through early evening Sunday, especially around Albany, Poughkeepsie, and Cobleskill. Gusts will gradually weaken overnight as milder, calmer conditions return on Monday.

Drivers across Glens Falls, Saratoga Springs, and Kingston should be cautious of sudden crosswinds on open roads, particularly along stretches of I-87 and Route 7. Outdoor plans may be impacted by the persistent breezy conditions, and residents are urged to secure loose items like patio furniture and trash bins.

Temperatures will remain well below Saturday’s highs, with many locations, including Amsterdam, Pittsfield, and Brattleboro, barely reaching the low 50s before sunset. Layers are recommended if heading out today, as wind chills could make it feel colder.

Winds will diminish after midnight, with Monday bringing lighter breezes and temperatures climbing into the mid-60s and low 70s across the region.
