Albany, N.Y. – Afternoon showers may dampen parts of the southern Adirondacks on Monday as clouds thicken across upstate New York and breezy conditions take hold later in the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, skies will turn mostly cloudy by midday, with isolated rain expected north of Old Forge and Newcomb by late afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the low 60s in valley areas like Albany, Poughkeepsie, and Glens Falls, while higher elevations will stay cooler in the low to mid-50s.
Cities like Saratoga Springs and Herkimer can expect dry but increasingly cloudy conditions, while areas along the Vermont border—such as Rutland and Lebanon—will see similar highs near 54°F under thickening skies. Winds are forecast to pick up through the afternoon, especially across exposed ridgelines and open valleys.
Drivers should remain alert in areas where showers develop, especially on Route 28 and along elevated terrain in the central Adirondacks. No widespread hazards are expected, but those heading outdoors should bring a light jacket and umbrella.
Showers taper off by early evening, with drier and warmer weather expected to return Tuesday.
