New York, NY – A cold weekend is on tap for New York, with snow showers and gusty winds expected to impact the area starting tonight. Temperatures will struggle to rise above freezing, creating hazardous conditions for outdoor activities and travel. Residents should prepare for snow, icy conditions, and wind chills as low as 25 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, tonight will bring a 50% chance of snow showers after 1 a.m., with a low of 30 degrees. Winds from the west at 5 to 8 mph will shift northwest by morning, making it feel even colder. On Saturday, snow showers are possible before noon, with highs reaching only 36 degrees. Gusty winds of up to 14 mph could cause reduced visibility during snowfall.

The weather clears up by Saturday night, with mostly clear skies and a low of 31 degrees. However, wind chill values between 25 and 30 degrees will persist. Sunday promises sunshine and slightly milder conditions, with highs nearing 40 degrees, but cold winds will continue from the northwest.

Looking ahead, the workweek will start sunny on Monday with highs of 40 degrees before cooling to the low 30s by midweek. Commuters and travelers should monitor forecasts for any changes and plan accordingly. Drivers are urged to use caution on bridges and overpasses, as icy patches may develop.
