New York, NY – After a bright and breezy stretch midweek, rain returns to New York City just in time to disrupt weekend plans.

According to the National Weather Service, mostly sunny skies will dominate Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the mid-60s and light winds. This window of calm is expected to give way Friday night, when clouds begin to build ahead of a Saturday system bringing a 70% chance of rain. Drivers along FDR Drive and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278) should prepare for slick roads by late morning Saturday.

On Wednesday, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 67°F. Winds from the north will remain light at 5 to 7 mph. Wednesday night stays quiet, dropping to 55°F under mostly clear skies.

Thursday continues the spring streak with sunshine and a high near 66°F. Conditions stay dry into Thursday night, with a low around 53°F under partly cloudy skies. Friday will be partly sunny and cooler, with highs around 65°F before showers roll in after sunset.

Saturday’s storm could bring heavier rainfall during the day, impacting parks, events, and travel. Carry rain gear and monitor updates if you’re planning outdoor activities.
