Albany, NY – Spring weather arrives with unpredictable conditions for Albany and surrounding areas, especially as we move into Monday. A chance of light showers begins after 2 p.m. Monday, and winds will pick up, gusting as high as 25 mph. If you’re planning to be out in Rensselaer or Albany, take extra caution on the roads as these conditions could make for slick and hazardous driving.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), temperatures will only reach 62°F on Monday, with winds turning northward at 16 mph. This shift in wind will make it feel colder than expected, so be sure to bundle up before heading out. The NWS predicts a 30% chance of rain during the day, but showers will become more likely Monday night, with heavier rain expected after 8 p.m. Winds will continue into the evening, reaching gusts up to 29 mph. Monday night’s low will drop to 49°F, signaling a cooler stretch for the area.

As the week progresses, temperatures will remain mild but unpredictable. By Tuesday, expect partly sunny skies with a high of 70°F before another round of showers rolls in for the evening. Nighttime temperatures will dip to 43°F, so residents should prepare for a cool night. These shifts in weather mean it’s crucial to stay prepared for changes, especially with possible showers on Friday and Saturday.

The extended five-day forecast offers more fluctuation: Wednesday will see partly cloudy skies with a high of 67°F, and Thursday will bring more sunshine with a high near 73°F. While rain chances remain through the week, the weekend will see temperatures rise once again.

Stay up-to-date with weather alerts and be prepared for the changing spring conditions ahead!
