New Orleans, LA – Love is in the air, but so is stormy weather. Valentine’s Day in New Orleans will be warm and sunny, but severe storms loom for the weekend.

The National Weather Service predicts highs near 79°F Friday, with gusty winds up to 25 mph. Clouds will build overnight, leading to possible showers early Saturday morning. A 100% chance of thunderstorms is expected Saturday, with some storms bringing damaging winds and heavy rain.

Sunday offers a much-needed break, with sunny skies and highs near 62°F. By Sunday night, temperatures will plummet to 38°F, bringing a chilly start to the new week. Monday will be mostly clear, with highs in the mid-50s.

Travelers on I-610 and I-10 should be cautious during Saturday’s storms. Flash flooding could impact low-lying areas, so have an alternate route ready.
