Albuquerque, New Mexico – Sunshine returns and temperatures soar across New Mexico this week, with Albuquerque warming into the low 80s by Tuesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, a Freeze Warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. Sunday, but by Monday, the state shifts to springlike conditions. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs near 76°F Monday, rising to 81°F Tuesday and peaking at 82°F Wednesday.

Roadways across Bernalillo County—including stretches of I-40 and I-25—will stay dry through midweek, providing ideal travel conditions after a cold and frosty weekend. Overnight lows remain mild after Sunday, ranging from the upper 30s to high 40s through Thursday.

Residents should continue protecting sensitive vegetation and outdoor pipes Sunday morning, but heavy jackets can be shelved starting Monday. Winds stay light to moderate, with speeds of 5 to 15 mph most afternoons and evenings.

This week’s dry spell offers a break from spring storms. There’s only a 20% chance of rain heading into Saturday. No hazardous weather is expected after the Freeze Warning expires.
