Albuquerque, NM – Residents across northern and central New Mexico have a rare opportunity to view six planets in alignment tonight under clear skies. However, cloud cover is expected to increase by Monday night, limiting visibility for the rest of the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, tonight will feature the best viewing conditions as skies remain mostly clear. Temperatures will drop to the low 20s overnight, so dress warmly if stepping outside to catch this celestial event. Monday brings sunshine with a high near 57 degrees, but clouds will begin moving in by evening, making it more challenging to stargaze.
Looking ahead, Tuesday will remain sunny with highs around 53 degrees, but by Tuesday night, increasing clouds will mark the arrival of a system bringing rain and snow chances by midweek. Rain and snow showers are possible as early as Wednesday morning, with a 50% chance of precipitation continuing into Wednesday night. Motorists traveling along I-25 or I-40 should prepare for potentially slick roads if snow accumulates.
Temperatures are expected to dip further midweek, with lows in the 20s and highs struggling to reach the mid-40s. The weather pattern will continue to bring a mix of rain and snow showers through Thursday, tapering off by Friday.
Plan outdoor activities early this week, and monitor forecasts for updates on the developing winter storm.
