Under a wide, pale desert sky, Albuquerque wakes to a crisp 37°F this morning with calm, dry air and distant mountain haze. Sunshine takes over by midmorning, and another mild stretch of weather will keep central New Mexico comfortably clear through Thursday and beyond.

According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, highs will climb into the low 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, rising to 65°F by Thursday and Friday under bright skies. Winds remain light — mostly below 10 mph — making it an ideal setup for travel, construction work, and outdoor errands across the metro area. Lows will stay near 30°F, just enough to produce early frost on rooftops and windshields before sunrise.

For now, the region remains shielded from the storm systems hammering the Midwest and Great Lakes, where heavy snow and Arctic air are expected late this week. In contrast, New Mexico stays bone-dry, with no measurable rain or snow on tap through the weekend. That said, forecasters note a pattern shift could emerge around December 15–17, hinting at cooler desert nights and a possible moisture return from the west.

Commuters can expect clear travel along I-25 and I-40, while holiday travelers will find little weather-related disruption in or out of Sunport Airport through the weekend.
