Philadelphia, PA – A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning, with snow and ice expected to create hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ, the advisory begins at noon Saturday and lasts until varying times Sunday, depending on location. Areas affected include Berks, Upper Bucks, and Western Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania, as well as Somerset and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey. Snow accumulations are expected between 2 and 3 inches, with a light glaze of ice.
Further north, Warren County in New Jersey and Lehigh and Northampton counties in Pennsylvania may see up to 4 inches of snow and one-tenth of an inch of ice. Carbon and Monroe counties in Pennsylvania, especially areas above 1,200 feet, could receive up to 5 inches of snow and nearly half an inch of ice, increasing the risk of power outages and tree damage.
