Mount Holly, NJ – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Fridayfor portions of northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, with freezing rain creating hazardous road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, areas including Sussex, Warren, and Morris counties in New Jersey, as well as Carbon, Monroe, Lehigh, and Northampton counties in Pennsylvania, could see up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation.

The Friday morning commute may be impacted, with very slippery roads, sidewalks, and bridges expected. Authorities urge residents to use caution while traveling and prepare for possible power outages due to ice accumulation on power lines.

Motorists should reduce speed, allow extra travel time, and check updated road conditions via their state’s 511 traffic service.

This advisory expires at 9 a.m., but lingering slick spots could persist throughout the morning. Stay alert for further updates from local officials.
