New Jersey – Coastal areas of New Jersey are under a flood advisory today, with minor flooding expected along low-lying areas and roadways, including Route 35. Officials urge caution for drivers navigating these zones, especially during high tide.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, the advisory will remain in effect through 2 p.m. today. Minor tidal flooding is expected to persist into Tuesday along the New Jersey and Delaware coasts. Areas near Barnegat, Sandy Hook, and Long Beach Island are most at risk. Localized flooding could cause temporary lane closures or delays along coastal highways. Residents should monitor updates and avoid flooded roads.

Today’s weather will be sunny inland, with a high of 66°F and light winds. Conditions tonight will remain clear, with lows around 40°F. Tuesday brings more sunshine, with a high of 61°F, though a 20% chance of evening showers looms.

Looking ahead, rain is more likely by Wednesday night, with showers expected to bring up to a quarter inch of rainfall. Temperatures will drop into the mid-40s by evening. Thursday offers partly sunny skies with lingering chances of rain in the morning, followed by another cold night.

If traveling near coastal areas this week, heed local advisories, especially on Routes 35 and 36. Flood-prone neighborhoods may see recurring high water events during high tides. Drivers should seek alternate routes and remain alert for changing conditions.
