Manchester, NH – Rain will return to southern New Hampshire Friday night, bringing thunderstorms and the threat of localized downpours through Saturday evening. The National Weather Service warns residents in Manchester and surrounding towns to expect wet roads, reduced visibility, and potential minor flooding into the weekend.

According to the NWS office in Gray, Maine, isolated showers may begin as early as Friday afternoon, with more widespread rainfall developing after 5 p.m. A 60% chance of rain will persist into Friday night, increasing to 90% by Saturday as thunderstorms move through the area. Rain totals could reach up to half an inch, especially during heavier bursts.

Cities including Manchester, Hooksett, and Derry should prepare for slick conditions on I-93 and Route 101, particularly during overnight hours. Light winds from the south will shift to the northwest Saturday afternoon, but skies will remain mostly cloudy through Sunday.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, check local alerts, and delay weekend travel if possible. After the wet spell, skies are expected to clear by Sunday night with sunshine returning Monday.

Rain chances remain elevated through Saturday night; further updates will be issued as conditions evolve.
