Manchester, N.H. – Sudden visibility drops and hazardous travel could develop across New Hampshire within minutes as gusty winds and bursts of snow move into the region late next week.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the 8-to-14 day outlook from Friday, March 27 through Thursday, April 2 indicates below-normal temperatures statewide along with an increased likelihood of strong wind events. Wind gusts could reach 40 to 45 mph, especially across higher elevations and open stretches of highway.

Northern New Hampshire, including Berlin and the White Mountains, is favored for above-normal precipitation, increasing the likelihood of accumulating snow and blowing snow. Visibility could drop sharply along I-93 north of Concord and Route 16 during heavier snow bursts, particularly overnight and during early morning travel.

Central and southern areas, including Manchester and Concord, may see intermittent snow showers paired with gusty winds, leading to slick roads and sudden slowdowns. Strong winds could also result in isolated power outages where trees and utility lines are exposed.

Wind chills are expected to fall into the 20s and upper teens in northern areas, increasing cold exposure risks. Residents should secure loose outdoor items, charge essential devices, and avoid unnecessary travel during peak wind and snow periods.

This pattern is expected to persist into early April, with additional advisories possible as conditions evolve.
