Concord, N.H. – Roads, streams, and low-lying neighborhoods across southern and central New Hampshire could flood again Saturday as more heavy rain moves into the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, a Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday for Hillsborough, Merrimack, Sullivan, and Cheshire counties. Areas already soaked from Friday’s storms may see rapid rises in streams and flash flooding, especially around Keene, Manchester, and Nashua.

Emergency management officials warn that saturated ground combined with runoff may flood creeks, basements, and roadways, particularly in areas like Peterborough, Claremont, and Concord. Local streams near the Sugar River and Ashuelot River systems are of particular concern. Drivers should avoid low-lying roads and watch for barricades. Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas, even if water appears shallow.

Residents in flood-prone areas should prepare for rapid water rise, charge phones, gather essential supplies, and stay alert for Flash Flood Warnings.

The flood threat is expected to taper off later Saturday night, but more rain is possible next week. Stay tuned for updates if new alerts are issued.
