Boston, MA – A sharp temperature drop is expected across Massachusetts this weekend as a strong cold front moves through, bringing much colder air by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service Boston, temperatures will be unseasonably mild Saturday, reaching the 50s across much of the state. However, a cold front will push through Saturday night, bringing gusty winds and a 30-degree temperature drop.

By Sunday morning, lows will be in the teens with wind chills near zero. Highs will struggle to reach 30 degrees, nearly 30 degrees colder than Saturday’s highs. Winds will be strong, with gusts up to 30 mph, creating blustery conditions.

The dramatic temperature shift could cause icy patches on roads, especially where precipitation occurs Saturday evening. Residents should dress warmly and prepare for much colder conditions Sunday.

The cold snap will continue into early next week before temperatures gradually rebound. Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts should plan accordingly for the sudden shift in weather.
