Nevada Weather Update: Warm, Windy Thursday in Las Vegas as Spring Conditions Intensify

Las Vegas, NV – Spring in southern Nevada isn’t slowing down as gusty winds and rising temperatures push into the Las Vegas Valley on Thursday, creating travel and outdoor safety concerns.

According to the National Weather Service, breezy conditions will develop by midday Thursday with wind gusts topping 32 mph in parts of the region. Temperatures are expected to reach 86°F by late afternoon, 10 degrees above seasonal averages for late March. Drivers on U.S. Route 95 and other open highways should use caution, particularly during the afternoon peak.

Winds will begin picking up Thursday morning with sustained speeds between 13 and 20 mph, growing stronger into the afternoon. Outdoor activities, especially those involving unsecured objects or lightweight equipment, should be limited or rescheduled. Health officials also recommend staying hydrated and wearing sunscreen, as UV levels are expected to rise alongside the heat.

The breezy conditions will ease Thursday night with a low around 60°F. Friday brings a cooler, calmer day with a high of 75°F under partly sunny skies. Temperatures will dip into the low 70s over the weekend, remaining mostly sunny through Sunday.
