Las Vegas, Nevada – Triple-digit heat will grip Las Vegas this weekend, but it’s the overnight thunderstorm threat that could catch many off guard heading into Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, a 30% chance of thunderstorms moves in after 4 a.m. Sunday, bringing gusts up to 28 mph and spotty showers across Clark County. The chance for more isolated storms continues through Tuesday morning, with daily highs soaring into the mid-90s.

The highest risk of showers and lightning will arrive late Sunday into Monday, mainly affecting areas east of I-15 and neighborhoods in Summerlin, Henderson, and North Las Vegas. Monday will remain hot and humid, with highs near 93°F and southeast winds up to 18 mph. Localized street flooding is possible during brief downpours.

Drivers should avoid flooded intersections and secure outdoor items. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat hours, and charge electronic devices in case of power disruptions.

The threat for scattered storms diminishes by Tuesday afternoon, but temperatures will remain in the upper 90s through midweek.
