Reno, Nev. – A stretch of intense summer heat will grip Reno through midweek, with highs reaching 94°F Monday and Tuesday—just as scattered thunderstorms pose a slight threat Monday afternoon and evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Reno, a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop between 2 and 8 p.m. Monday, especially west of the city. Winds will remain light, but gusts could reach 20 mph Tuesday night. Conditions will shift back to dry and sunny by Tuesday morning.
Localized showers may impact I-80 and surrounding roadways late Monday, though accumulation and delays should be minimal. Drivers should remain cautious during sudden downpours or lightning strikes. Monday night lows will remain mild around 63°F, offering little overnight cooling.
The warm, dry pattern continues through the rest of the week, with daytime highs in the upper 80s and clear skies persisting through at least Friday. No additional rain is expected after Monday.
Another update will be issued if storm chances increase or if Red Flag Warnings are posted due to dry conditions.
