Las Vegas, Nev. – Warm, windy weather is expected to return to the Las Vegas Valley by midweek, with gusts approaching 30 mph and highs pushing near 90°F, raising concerns for elevated fire danger and outdoor safety.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Tuesday will bring sunny skies and a high of 89°F, with south winds increasing to 13 mph and gusts reaching 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds strengthen Wednesday, with gusts as high as 29 mph expected across Clark County, particularly along exposed corridors and open desert areas.
Southern Nevada residents should secure loose outdoor items, avoid open flames, and be mindful of rapidly changing driving conditions—especially on U.S. 95 and I-15. While no advisories have been issued yet, the combination of dry air and stronger gusts could prompt local fire agencies to issue red flag warnings if conditions worsen.
Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s through Thursday, before dipping slightly into the low 80s by Friday. Winds are expected to ease by the weekend.
Another update will be issued if fire weather conditions intensify or if gusts exceed current projections.
