Las Vegas, NV – Strong winds are sweeping across Southern Nevada today, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph, prompting a Wind Advisory for Las Vegas and surrounding areas. Drivers along Interstate 15 and U.S. 95 should prepare for difficult travel conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. today, with sustained southwest winds of 20-30 mph. Gusty winds may cause blowing dust, tree damage, and isolated power outages. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and drive cautiously, particularly in open desert areas.

Despite today’s turbulent conditions, a weekend warm-up is ahead. Friday will be partly sunny, with a high near 58°F, and winds gradually weakening by evening. By Saturday, sunny skies return, with highs reaching 65°F.

Sunday will bring a pleasant spring warm-up, with mostly sunny conditions and a high near 72°F. Overnight temperatures will stay mild, hovering in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday could see a slight chance of showers, but otherwise, a dry and seasonable week is expected.

For travelers, expect reduced visibility on highways today, and check for road updates before heading out. Stay tuned to local forecasts for any changes.
