Reno, Nevada – Nevada’s first strong summer surge is set to begin Tuesday, June 3rd, as dry conditions and temperatures near 90°F grip Reno and the surrounding valleys. I-580 commuters and outdoor workers should prepare for hotter afternoons, especially as wind picks up across the area.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, Tuesday’s high will reach 87°F under sunny skies, with light north winds turning calm by evening. While conditions remain stable, the combination of dry air and breezy afternoons could increase fire weather concerns heading into midweek.

Expect little relief overnight as temperatures drop only into the mid-50s. Wednesday and Thursday will bring more of the same, with highs hovering between 83°F and 86°F. Winds will stay mostly light but may shift directions in the afternoons, keeping things dry and variable across Washoe County.

No rain is expected through the week, and skies remain mostly clear through Friday. Outdoor activity will be safe, but residents are advised to hydrate, wear sunscreen, and avoid open flames or outdoor burning due to heightened fire risk.

By Friday, highs near 88°F mark a warm-up heading into the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday pushing into the low 90s – the hottest stretch of June so far.
